The Federal Government has not taken a decision to furnish Nigerians with free electricity, the Ministry of Power has said.
It made this statement in a tweet this morning.
The Ministry of Power said that when it becomes a reality, it would be announced officially.
"No decision has been taken by the Federal Government to provide Nigerians with free electricity for 2 months. If and when that becomes a reality, it shall be announced officially.
"Be rest assured that FG is exploring ways to ameliorate any hardship on Nigerians," the Ministry tweeted.

Be rest assured that FG is exploring ways to ameliorate any hardship on Nigerians.
Just recently the House of Representatives was seeking a way to provide free electricity to Nigeria at no cost.
According to the speaker, sitting at home for two weeks is a long time and what will bring succour to the people is providing basic amenities. Something that their West African counterparts, Ghana has perfectly done.
