Expect nothing from Trump – Shehu Sani to Africa

Former Senator Shehu Sani has warned Africans not to expect anything from the 47th President of the United States, President Donald Trump

Taking to his X page to share his thoughts, Sani believes Trump’s administration will be a great challenge to the world.

Sani stated that America’s relationship with the rest of the world will be put on the line because Trump will want to reset everything, including the European Union (EU), the United Nations (UN), and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

According to the ex-lawmaker, these changes will cause discomfort for both US nationals and other countries.

He mentioned that the US President will be feared and not loved and will ultimately face resistance from allies and foes.

Sani wrote, “Mr Trump takes over the American presidency today. A disruptor takes power. Its going to be a great challenge to the world. It’s going to be an American nationalist and businessman vs. the world.

He will pull the plug or change the plugs at the UN, EU, NATO and the American relations with the world.

He will be feared and not loved and will ultimately face resistance from allies and foes. He will try to reset everything and that is where the discomfort will come. Africa should not expect much from Trump, even though Biden didn’t do much either. Trump is back and sadly without Mugabe. Trump may be the drug the world needs to wake up or stay awake. However, the world must not give up or compromise its universal human values.”

Trump, after winning the presidency two months ago, voiced his decision to make changes to some policies, including migration, trade and many others.
