A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has said the former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-rufai, fought the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, in court over President Bola Tinubu.

This was as he revealed that the monetary policy implemented by Emefiele was targeted at Tinubu's presidential ambition.

Igbokwe made this known amid a fallout between El-rufai and Tinubu whose government he helped install.

He shared on Facebook, "Do not tell me negative things about El Rufai. I do not dwell on negativities. I dwell on positive things. Where were you when he courageously headed to Court to challenge Emefiele’s fraudulent monetary policy that was targeted at PBAT?

"Emefiele’s monetary policy was targeted at PBAT. The major progenitors of the fraudulent banking policy are from a particular zone called SS. The plot failed woefully."

Igbokwe's words come amid El-Rufai's recent romance with opposition figures like former presidential candidates, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.

Speaking at a conference on strengthening democracy in Africa, El-rufai called out the APC, saying the party lacks internal democracy.

His words were seen by many as an open attack on the Tinubu administration which he failed to be a part of due to the National Assembly rejecting his nomination as a minister.
