The All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo in the upcoming Edo governorship election has labeled the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidates, Asue Ighodalo and Labour Party (LP) Olumide Akpata as “baby politicians”.
He commented ahead of the governorship election slated for September 11.
In a yet-to-be-released interview with BBC News Pidgin, the Edo State APC guber candidate was asked about the best way to win the polls. He quickly responded attacking his rivals claiming that they are baby politicians and have little or no knowledge about politics.
“What is in the candidates of PDP? These are baby politicians; they don’t even know politics. They have never done politics before,” Okpebholo said.
The senator also questioned Asue Ighodalo’s role as the former Chief Economic Adviser to Governor Godwin Obaseki, noting that both the governor and himself failed the people of Edo State.
“Staying with the governor, saying that you are the Chief Economic Adviser, did you advise him well? The governor that you have served under as a governor has failed the Edo people and you are the Chief Economic Adviser, both of you failed.” He concluded
