Chelsea star Cole Palmer has caused a stir among fans with his surprise pick for the best penalty taker.
The Englishman named former Italy and Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli as his best penalty taker, ahead of some of the greatest players including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Andrea Pirlo.
In an interaction with BBC Sports (via @BBCMOTD on X), the former Manchester City man was asked to name a player who would convert a spot kick in a very crucial moment, and he chose Balotelli as his trusted choice.
“If I can’t say me… Yeah, I would, but I’ll say one just for the content. The one that comes to my head is Balotelli. Have you seen his pens?
“I trust him, go on YouTube and search his penalties.”
Cole Palmer has picked up from where he left off last season, scoring six goals and providing four assists in six Premier League appearances for the Blues.
The 22-year-old was phenomenal last weekend, scoring all of Chelsea’s four goals in their 4-2 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues talisman became the first player to score four Premier League goals in the first half.
