Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has said that Stella Emmanuel, the US-based Nigerian doctor who said that hydroxychloroquine is a cure for COVID-19 deserves an award.
A video that went viral yesterday showed a group of doctors addressing newsmen in Washington.
Emmanuel who was one of them revealed that she has cured over 350 COVID-19 patients using antimalarial drug, hydroxychloroquine and zinc.
“We’ve not lost one patient. And on top of that, I’ve put myself, my staff, and many doctors that I know on hydroxychloroquine for prevention because by the very mechanism of action, it works early and as a prophylaxis", he said.
Emmanuel who revealed that she has been threatened for her claim went on to double down on it.
“This virus has a cure. It is called hydroxychloroquine, zinc, and Zithromax", she said.
The viral video has since been deleted by Facebook, Youtube, Instagram and Twitter.
In reaction, Femi Fani-Kayode said that those behind the mass censorship of the video "have something insidious & evil to hide".
He tweeted: "The American-based Nigerian Dr. that exposed the truth about an effective cure for COVID-19 deserves an award. The fact that her video is being removed by Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and instagram means those behind this mass censorship have something insidious & evil to hide".
