Vice President Kashim Shettima jokingly asserted that despite his respect for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, he would tackle him as the 2027 elections approach.
Shettima made this known on Thursday, February 6, 2025, while attending a symposium in Abuja to commemorate the 60th birthday of Kayode Fayemi, the former governor of Ekiti State.
During his speech, Shettima acknowledged Atiku as one of the dignitaries at the event. He recalled his role during the 2023 presidential election, describing himself as an “adjunct provocateur” who took “hot shots” at Atiku.
The former Governor of Borno State stated that Atiku took the criticisms prior to and during the election well.
According to Shettima, he usually refers to Atiku as “Baba”, adding that Atiku should expect more jabs in 2027 as he plans to unleash more fire.
His comment brought about laughter from the audience, including Atiku smiling at Shettima’s remark.
