The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has approved the nomination of Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala for a role as the director-general of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
Okonjo-Iweala, Nigeria's former Minister of Finance will be gunning for the position after Buhari withdrew the candidacy of Yonov Frederick Agah.
Election for a four year term from 2021 to 2025 will be held next year in Geneva, Switzerland.
