The Boko Haram terrorists have wreaked havoc in Borno State after leaving at least, 30 people dead and abducted many women and children during Sunday's attack.
The attack Sunday evening targeted the village of Auno on a key highway, linking the capital, Maiduguri.
According to a spokesman of the state, many of those killed had been stopped on the road at a checkpoint in the village. [BBC]
Punch reported that many residents lamented that about 20 vehicles comprising of trailers, buses, and cars were burnt by the insurgents who laid siege on their village about 9:50 pm on Sunday.
