'Demola Olarewaju, an aide to former vice president Atiku Abubakar, has slammed the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF Lateef Fagbemi, for telling Governor Ademola Adeleke not to hold local government elections in Osun State on Saturday.

Fagbemi gave the directive after a Court of Appeal reinstated LG chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

A brutal drama ensued on Monday in Osun when the APC chairmen wanted to gain access to the local government Secretariat but we're strongly resisted.

The incident led to the death of an LG chairman and six others in the state.

Adeleke then ordered citizens to stay away from the secretariat pending Saturday's elections.

However, his position was faulted by Fagbemi who reminded him of the appeal court's decision that reinstated the APC chairmen.

Reacting, Atiku's aide knocked Fagbemi, saying he's confusing his role as the former attorney to the immediate past governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola, with the AGF position.

He shared on X, "If Lateef Fagbemi has confused his role as Oyetola’s former lawyer with the present office he holds as AGF, he shouldn’t go further and be a busybody.

"His personal opinion on the Osun LGA election is a self-formed jaundiced, partisan and partial one that changes nothing."
