Former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, has said that any political party or individual who decides to work with Nasir El-Rufai, the former Kaduna State Governor, is doomed.
Odinkalu said this following the statement made by former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, criticizing Rufai over his recent political comment criticizing President Bola Tinubu’s government.
El-Rufai had previously accused the APC of abandoning its founding principles and promoting poor leadership.
“You cannot afford to have illiterates, semi-illiterates, and cunning people as your leaders. This is why we end up with the poor leadership we have today,” El-Rufai stated.
Sani accused the former governor of practicing tyranny while in power and expressed surprise that El-Rufai now preaches democracy after leaving office.
El-Rufai doubled down on his backlash at Tinubu’s government, insisting that the party and the nation are facing an existential crisis of monumental proportions.
In a post shared on his social media page on Thursday, Odinkalu suggested that any political party or person who seeks to work with El-Rufai towards a national platform is doomed.
“I keep saying it: Any party or person that seeks to work with him towards a national platform is & will be doomed,” Odinkalu posted on X.
