Nigerians doing business in the popular Amu market located in the Mushin area of Lagos state have mourned their losses on microblogging platform, Twitter.
MyNigeria reported that the fire broke out very early on Saturday around 2:10 am, leaving properties worth millions of Naira damaged.
Affected individuals known to have stalls in the market took to social media to mourn the loss of their livelihood.
Atanda said, "Our assets... where almost all my family members get their income from. It’s disheartening to see their goods go down in flames with help coming 4hrs after. The bravest&strongest man (Dad) I know cried today and it breaks my heart to see it. WE can do better."

Temitope felt the constant fire reports were not a normal occurrence.

Adufe completely broke down in tears.
"God !!! Why us? This is where almost all my family make their livings. My dad 3 stores ,my grandma’s shops, my 2 aunts shops and stores,all my grand aunts shops just got burnt down in 1 night. This is too much for us. #amufire #mushin."

Dare raised an alarm that the fire was not over yet.
"Fire is still burning at the moment, Local government chairman, vice and legislative members also present at the Amu plank market. May Almighty God condole our people who have lost valuables there #mushin," he tweeted.
