Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has vowed to support all traders affected by the Amu plank market fire in ensuring that they get back on their feet.
He made this promise while he visited the famous plank market located in Mushin today, alongside other state government officials.
Sanwo-Olu's words: "I was at Amu plank market in Mushin for an assessment of the damage and material loss caused by the fire.
"The extent is unfortunate but we are thankful that no life was lost. We will support all the affected traders and ensure that they get back on their feet."
He, however, promised not to take over the market but help traders in the reconstruction so that businesses moves smoothly.
"I also assured them that the government will not take over the market but we will work to see how the re-construction will be quickly done so that business activities can resume fully. There are so many families affected by this; we will help them rebuild their lives," he added.
