Following the spread of the global pandemic, coronavirus in several places in the world, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has now released mass gathering advisories for 4 types of events.
Unveiling the coronavirus advisory on Twitter, the four types of events affected by this advisory includes religious events, sporting events, social events, and others- pertaining to youth service camps, conferences, and exhibitions.
The NCDC gave guidelines for before, after and during the event.
It demanded that for any event to go on, the State Ministry of Health must be well informed before it can take place. It also urged organizers to regularly remind its guests to wash their hands and avoid contact with others as much as possible.
Giving a rundown of equipment to be present at every public gathering, the NCDC demanded that temperature scanners must be present at entry points; adequate ventilation must be provided as well as handwashing facilities, health professionals and waste management facilities.
