Bello Matawale of Zamfara State has lost his re-election bid to Dauda Lawal-Dare of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Matawale of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 311, 976 votes to Dare's 377,726 according to INEC's Returning Officer, Professor Kasimu Shehu who announced the results on Tuesday, March 21 in Gusau, the state capital.
Prof. Shehu, said, “I Prof. Kassimu Shehu of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, certify that I am INEC Returning Officer for Zamfara State.
“That Dr. Lawal Dauda of the PDP, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is declared the winner and returned elected.”
