APC is uneasy about the Atiku, Peter Obi meeting -Ex-PDP spokesman

The recent meeting between Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Peter Gregory Obi, the flagbearer for the Labour Party (LP), generated several reactions from the political class when it emerged on social media.

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) says it is not unsettled by the meeting between the maverick opposition parties at this time as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is more focused on governance.

While the conversation continues, a former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, says the APC is “sweating” over the recent meeting between Atiku and Obi.

Obi also met with other bigwigs of the PDP, including former Senate President Bukola Saraki and Sule Lamido.

According to Ologbondiyan, the APC should focus on raising issues of governance and not engage in the usual politicking over the meeting.

Speaking on the speculations surrounding the meeting, Ologbondiyan posted on X: “I just can’t stop laughing at the theatrics of these APCites.

“In one breath, they will tell Nigerians that elections are over, and those who have been elected should be allowed to govern, as if any Nigerian has the strength to stop them if they have the capacity to do what is necessary.

“On the flip side, they are sweating because @atiku and @PeterObi met in Abuja, a situation that has thrown them into a frenzy in the media space.

“It speaks volumes that the same people who should be raising issues of governance are now engaging in politicking just because Atiku and Peter Obi met.

“Isn’t this a case of the guilty running even when no one pursues?”
