AFCON Qualifiers: Seven Super Eagles stars hit camp

Seven players have arrived at the Super Eagles camp in Uyo ahead of the upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifier matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

According to the team's official handle on X, vice-captain William Troost-Ekong,
Ola Aina, Semi Ajayi, Ademola Lookman, Olisa Ndah, Taiwo Awoniyi, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru are the seven players who have touched down in Uyo ahead of the clash against Benin Republic.

Fourteen players are expected to join the team between Monday and Wednesday.

The 2023 AFCON finalists will kick off their qualifier campaign against Gernot Rohr's Benin Republic side at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Saturday, September 7.

The Super Eagles will later travel away to face Rwanda in their next encounter on Tuesday, September 10.

Augustine Eguavoen will be in charge of the team on an interim basis. This comes against the backdrop of Bruno Labbadia's decision to decline the Super Eagles job offer.
