AFCON Qualifiers: Ikpeba tips Super Eagles to beat Libya in both legs

Former Nigerian international Victor Ikpeba has tipped the Super Eagles to beat Libya in the two legs of the upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Nigeria will take on the Mediterranean Knights at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Friday, October 11, in what will be their third game in the qualifiers before traveling away for the return encounter on Tuesday, October 15.

Sharing his thoughts on the game, the former AS Monaco striker believes Eguavoen’s side has enough quality to beat Libya in both legs.

"The Super Eagles have what it takes to punish Libya in both legs,” Ikpeba said on Supersport TV.

“You have to respect Libya; they will come down to defend with their lives and rely on counter-attacks.

“They may be missing some key players, but we shouldn’t bother ourselves with what is going on with them.”

Nigeria has so far managed a win and a draw in the two qualifier games and sits on top of Group C with 4 points ahead of Rwanda, Benin, and Libya.
