Omoyele Sowore has argued that animals in a modern zoo are treated better than Nigerians by their leaders.

Sowore made the argument when he appeared on the latest edition of the Honest Bunch podcast which aired over the weekend.

The former presidential candidate who had always fought for the basic rights of citizens noted that animals in zoos have doctors.

He dared the hosts to tell him which Nigerian leaders treat citizens better than these animals in modern zoos.

He said: "A zoo is better than Nigeria. I have been to a zoo before where the animals have doctors. They take naps and when they have children and their offspring, they take care of them, they will even announce it on TV."

"That is how animals in the zoo are treated, which Nigerians do you see that their leaders treat them like that?"
