In what will be shocking news to residents of one of the most populous state in Nigeria, Lagos state, has posted its highest COVID-19 deaths in a single day.
This occurred on Monday, February 1, with the death of 15 people who lost their lives following complications from the ravaging virus, PM News reports.
The remaining six deaths were accounted for in three States and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 676 new cases of COVID-19 in the country.
This brings the total number of infected people to 131,918.
Till date, 131,918 cases have been confirmed, 106,275 cases have been discharged and 1,607 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the federal capital territory.
