Why Finidi George hasn't signed contract despite being appointed Super Eagles coach

Despite being appointed head coach of the Super Eagles a week ago, Finidi George is yet to sign a contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Reports suggest that the necessary paperwork required to formalize his appointment has not been completed.

The 53-year-old is set to meet with the NFF hierarchy this week to finalize contract details after the initial meeting was postponed.

According to reports, the delay in signing the contract is attributed to Finidi George's current commitment to Enyimba FC.

The NFF is yet to reach an agreement with the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) side regarding the buyout of Finidi George's existing contract.

Finidi was appointed head coach of Enyimba in 2021 and led the team to victory in the NPFL last season.

Also, the delay in announcing Finidi George's backroom staff and assistant coach could also be contributing to the delay in signing the contract.
