Paris 2024: Nigeria, Ghana athletes share warm celebration after qualification

The Olympic Games berth was marked by a remarkable display of sportsmanship between Team Nigeria and Team Ghana at the World Relay Championships in the Bahamas on Sunday, May 5.

The quartet of Udodi Onwuzurike, Ekanem Consider, Alaba Akintola, and Karlington Anunagba finished second in heat 2 of the men's 4x100m relay, securing their place at the upcoming Paris Olympics.

Clocking a time of 38.57s, Team Nigeria trailed behind arch-rivals Ghana, who clinched first place with a season's best time of 38.29s. Team Liberia closely followed in third place, also securing qualification to the Olympic Games.

Despite the historic rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria, athletes from both teams shared a beautiful moment of celebration together after securing their tickets to Paris.
