A Borno State lawmaker, Ahmed Jaha, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu’s government to involve foreign forces to address the insecurity in Nigeria.

He stated that the Nigerian security forces have failed to quell the insecurity plaguing the country.

The member of the House of Representatives for Chibok, Gwoza, Danbuwa made this known on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 while responding to a motion put forward by Obinna Ginger.

According to Jaha, during former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, the foreign mercenaries almost eradicated the Boko Haram insurgents.

However, when former President Muhammadu Buhari took office in 2015, he was advised to expel the mercenaries, leading to a rapid spread of insecurity to other parts of the country.

Jaha went on to say that despite the billions of naira spent, the Nigerian security forces failed in their efforts to contain insecurity.

He said;

“The mercenaries almost wiped out the Boko Haram insurgents during Jonathan’s administration but Buhari sent them out of the country.
